In the past, Elephants lived with farmer and hill tribe people. They eat natural food in the forest. But over time, the wilderness and the farmland was bought. The forest was transformed into a human habitat. Nature and forest diminished. Some farmers can not take good care of elephants as before. For the reason that the forest was not perfect as before. The cost of growing crops. Some farmers can not afford those costs. Some elephants do not eat freely. And there was not enough food for them. Some farmers attack elephants when they eat fruit or vegetables in their farms. The number of elephants has decreased dramatically. And many elephants have not been cared for and helped. Chiangmai Elephant Legend are represent from community who while working towards survival and safety of the elephants. Here they are respected and protected, they will have enough food and safe from being abused. And there is enough space for them to stay their natural life
